How it all started
Our Story
The story begins with a shared vision and a deep-seated passion for improving lives through clinical trials. Dr. Max Arocha, a successful entrepreneur and innovator with a proven track record in establishing thriving private practices in South Florida, was driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence in patient care. His entrepreneurial spirit and innovative mindset had already led to numerous U.S. and international patents and the successful development of a Florida-based pharmaceutical and biotechnology company (PharmaPhD), achieving FDA clearance for medical devices and pending FDA approval for drug products.
Simultaneously, on the northern side of the country, Dr. Joel S. Ross, a leading figure in Alzheimer's disease research, was making groundbreaking strides at the Memory Enhancement Center of America in Long Branch, New Jersey. With an illustrious career spanning over two decades, Dr. Ross had been at the forefront of Alzheimer's disease research, serving as a Principal Investigator or Sub-investigator on nearly every Alzheimer's disease drug in clinical trials. His expertise and dedication to advancing Alzheimer's treatment options were further exemplified by his leadership in over 100 Alzheimer's disease research protocols as a Principal Investigator, successfully meeting FDA guidelines and protocol requirements.
The paths of these two visionary leaders crossed through a shared commitment to advancing healthcare and a mutual recognition of the need for innovative solutions to address the growing challenges of clinical trial patient recruitment and retention. Dr. Arocha's entrepreneurial acumen and Dr. Ross's unparalleled expertise in Alzheimer's disease research formed a powerful synergy, laying the foundation for a groundbreaking collaboration that formed the largest clinical trial patient dataset in the world.
Adding to this dynamic duo was Debra L. Ross, Esq., an experienced attorney who transitioned into the executive director role at the Memory Enhancement Centers. Debra's sharp legal mind and her certification as a Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) accredited by the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) brought a critical dimension to the team. Her meticulous oversight of staff, data management, and quality assurance ensured the highest standards of clinical research were met.
This formidable team, along with a dedicated network of colleagues and family members including Dr. Max Arocha, his wife Dr. Karla Jaquez, and their extended family of medical professionals, embarked on a mission to revolutionize clinical trial care. Their unwavering commitment to the highest standards of clinical trial sites and research, combined with their diverse expertise and shared passion, ignited a spark that would soon transform the landscape of clinical trial patient recruitment and retention.
